研究领域为生物多样性格局及其驱动过程(基础研究)、水生态监测与健康评价技术(应用研究)。重点以大型底栖无脊椎动物为研究对象，以野外实地调查为基础，数理统计为支撑，结合分子生物学、eDNA、人工智能识别和生态模型等多学科手段，系统解析流域尺度生物群落的时空分布特征及其与环境因素、人类干扰的响应关系。致力于构建基于生物完整性指数的水生态系统健康评价体系，研发适用于不同水体类型的快速生物监测与评估技术，为水域生态保护与修复提供科学依据。共发表论文50余篇，主持国自然基金、博士后面上、博士后先锋人才跟踪支持项目、科技部、农业部及地方委托项目十余项。
