学科组介绍:
传承于享誉国内外的原生动物学家王家楫院士创建、沈韫芬院士发展的原生动物分类与生态学学科组。以单细胞真核微生物——原生动物为研究对象,综合利用形态学、分子生物学、组学、生物信息学和实验生物学等多种手段,研究原生动物的分类和生物系统学,建立关键种质和遗传资源;解析原生动物的重要性状和功能演化及生态适应机制;发展原生动物合成生物学模型和关键生物技术,开展原生动物资源利用和应用研究。
近期主要研究方向:
1)原生动物多样性研究:
长期广泛开展野外调查,发展环境DNA和单细胞组学等关键技术,对原生动物主要类群和自由生/寄生/共生代表种类进行收集、鉴定和分类,建立原生动物种质、遗传资源信息库以及环境DNA数据库;结合形态、组学及基因功能等多维数据,理解原生动物系统发育关系,生物多样性及其形成机制;发展纤毛虫、鞭毛虫、变形虫等多种原生动物研究模型,研究单细胞原生动物适应性进化/生态适应的功能基础,深入探讨生殖、运动、捕食和共生等重要基础或进化生物学问题。
2)原生动物生物技术:
发掘纤毛虫、鞭毛虫、变形虫原生动物中重要种质和遗传资源,发展以四膜虫为主的单细胞原生动物合成生物学模型,建立基因编辑、大片段DNA合成和组装、细胞赋能等关键技术,研发用于环境污染物监测/降解、有害藻类控制和农业病害防治的新技术和新策略。
