学科组介绍：本学科组历史悠久，是水生所最早建立的学科组之一。饶钦止教授于1936年回国在中央研究院动植物研究所创立藻类分类组，80年来，几代人的不懈努力，致力于我国淡水藻类区系和系统分类学研究，先后发表几百篇论文，编写藻类分类学专著12本，发表了大量新物种，获得包括国家自然科学二等奖在内的科技成果奖共计8项。目前学科组研究方向有：1、藻类分类与系统进化---负责中国淡水藻类志的编研和重要类群的系统分类学研究，如绿藻门的橘色藻目、广义绿球藻目等，在形态学的基础上，结合分子系统学，超微结构及纯培养基础上开展深入研究，重新构建新的自然分类系统。2、微藻生态与生物多样性---参加综合性水生生物的科学考察，开展浮游藻类和底栖藻类生物多样性调查研究及基于藻类的水体健康评价。3、微藻资源化利用---我国具有丰富多样的藻类生境，筛选高油脂、高蛋白及高值代谢物等微藻藻株，探讨藻类利用新途径。
课题组现有研究人员3人(研究员2人，中级1人)，博士研究生5人，硕士研究生5人。
