主要从事鱼类性别演化机制以及鱼类遗传育种研究。主持国家自然科学基金联合重点项目1项、国家自然科学基金面上项目1项、国家重点研发计划子课题2项、中国科学院A类先导专项任务1项,入选湖北省“青年拔尖人才”和中国科学院“青年创新促进会”。以第一或者通讯作者(含并列)在NatureEcology&Evolution,PLoSGenetics,PLoSPathogens,ScienceChina-LifeSciences等主流刊物发表论文14篇,以第四完成人培育水产新品种异育银鲫“中科5号”。
一、揭示银鲫多倍化起源及单性生殖演化机制证明银鲫是双三倍体,由祖先双二倍体鲫经同源三倍化而形成;阐明银鲫通过抑制减数第一次分裂而产生不减数的卵子;发现减数分裂细胞周期相关基因及卵母细胞特异组蛋白变体在银鲫中大量扩张。该研究首次提出双三倍体概念,为单性脊椎动物生殖成功的演化机制提供了创新见解,同时也为促进银鲫精准遗传育种提供了宝贵资源(NatureEcology&Evolution,2022)。
二、阐明银鲫和兰州鲇性别决定系统发现银鲫具有超数染色体性别决定系统,筛选到银鲫雄性特异超数染色体上具有雄性特异或雄性偏向性表达的基因片段(PLoSGenetics,2021);揭示银鲫性别分化相关基因及其调控机制(PLoSGenetics,2022;PLoSPathogens,2022);通过多组学联合分析和基因功能研究鉴定了银鲫性别决定基因;证明银鲫同时还存在温度依赖型性别决定系统(Heredity,2018;BMCGenomics,2018;FrontiersinGenetics,2021),且性别决定系统转变与生殖方式转换紧密关联(ScienceChina-LifeSciences,2018)。揭示兰州鲇具有XY性别决定系统,并鉴定了X和Y染色体连锁的遗传标记(Aquaculture,2021);通过XX和YY鱼比较基因组分析筛选到兰州鲇性别决定候选基因。
三、开发银鲫和兰州鲇高效育种技术并创制具有育种潜力新种质开发银鲫基因组重构技术平台,合成具有优良性状的人工合成多倍体,为“中科6号”候选品系培育提供了种质资源和技术路径(ScienceChina-LifeSciences,2021)。创建兰州鲇雌雄同体鱼自交技术体系,培育具有明显生长优势的全雄群体,与传统路径相比节约了一个世代(3年)时间,为兰州鲇“全雄1号”候选品系培育提供了种质资源和技术路径(Aquaculture,2021)。
