主要从事人工湿地和水体生态修复方面的研究工作。主持国家自然科学基金面上项目、国家“水专项”/国家科技支撑计划/中科院先导项目子课题等10余项。相关结果以第一作者和通讯作者身份发表在Global Change Biology,Journal of Hazardous Materials,Soil Biology and Biochemistry,Bioresource Technology 等期刊上。作为主要完成人获湖北省技术发明一等奖、成果推广奖一等奖、自然科学奖二等奖,中国科学院科技促进发展奖、国家生态环境部环保科技二等奖和中国环境科学学会“青年科技奖”、“优秀环境科技工作者奖”等。
