  专家简介:

  Ron Essig is a fish biologist and current President of American Fisheries Society, and chief of the Fish and Wildlife Branch, Division of Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration, US Fish and Wildlife Service in Hadley, MA. He received a BS in biology from Rutgers University (1976) and an MS in fisheries biology from the University of Massachusetts (1979). Ron worked for the National Marine Fisheries Service stock assessment team in Woods Hole, MA (1979-1980), the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Coastal Resources Division in Brunswick, GA (1980-1984), and the NMFS Fishery Statistics Division in Washington, DC (1984-1991). Then he joined the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Federal Aid Division in the northeast region where he has worked for the past 21 years (1991-present). Ron’s focus areas for the administration of grants to State fishery agencies are marine and anadromous fish research and survey projects. He is an AFS Certified Fisheries Professional and has been a member of AFS since 1975.
